Our company designs the highest quality luxury leather handbags and women’s apparel that honors sacred ancient feminine archetypes. Through divine inspiration, our Founder created al-Kīmiyā aakemaj to provide women with sustainable, luxurious and uniquely designed handbags and clothing for women to adorn themselves as an expression of their sacred, feminine power.

Our Story:

Al-kimiya, or al-khīmiya, the Arabic word (الكيمياء or الخيمياء), meaning "the art of alloying metals, alchemy," or ‘divine science.” Aakemaj, a term coined by our Founder and her personal moniker, is the embodiment of “freedom,” “divine power,” and “immortality.”

Our Founder and Owner has been both a student and practitioner of diverse systems of spirituality, (Shambhala Buddhism, Kundalini Yoga, Tree of the Qliphoth and Ancient Polytheism) Spiritual and Material Alchemy, Herbalism and Healing, and Planetary energy work since 2010. With her scholarly specializations in Archaeology, concentrating on Ancient and Pre-Colonial Matriarchal and Matrifocal Societies, and Applied Mythology, Aakemaj has integrated her experiences as a practitioner of these academic domains with her creative work as a photographer and visual artist, personally designing and creating each of our collections as an expression of the divine creative inspiration she has received along her journey.
